I became a composer through my painting and because of my painting. This is why painting has always been my travelling companion and remains so to this day. Forty years ago, it was my main artistic language, then little by little, it gave way to the new musical language that I created. Yet it did not disappear, as it is still a laboratory for my music.
Without my painting, my image work and my accompanying thoughts, my music would not exist.
It would never have become this minimalist music, full of pictorial, digital and conceptual resonances.
